Does culture affect energy poverty? Evidence from a cross-country analysis

We investigate the impact of cultural dimension on energy poverty—a topic hitherto overlooked in literature—employing panel fixed effects, logistic, and heteroskedasticity identified endogenous variable regression estimators. The framework incorporates 103 countries over a period 1971–2018. Using five different proxies representing dimensions other demographic macroeconomic control variables, empirical analyses reveal that power distance masculinity (as opposed to femininity) worsen conditions poverty while individualism collectivism) long/short-term orientation (i.e., pragmatism vs. traditionalism/conservatism) tend lessen probability deprivation. find effect uncertainty avoidance ambiguous. Our research findings have profound policy implications reducing not just but also eradicating general.
